Saturday - on to Melk

While we were touring the church at Durnstein, we watched our ship head out to Melk (we thought we were supposed to check in with them at 11 - but they left at 10:15. Luckily, the crew rolled with the punches and found that we could take a bus to Melk. We finished our tour of the city and walked to the bus stop. We were about 30 minutes early, but just sat and relaxed. The bus came exactly on time and brought us to the bus station in Melk. Right next door was a new restaurant where we all got some kind of schnitzel and soup - for the excellent price of 5,80 Euro. Not bad at all and the food was great, as was the service. They gave us directions to walk to the pier where the ship was docked - about a 15 minute walk downhill. Next up our tour of Melk Abbey, a still functioning Benedictine monastery.

This was our bus ride

This is the restaurant

Here are just a couple of pictures of the Monastery
